Our project partners —San Antonio River Authority, Bexar County, City of San Antonio, and US Army Corps of Engineers— have invested over $384 million in river improvements for our community. Together, our investments have added over $1.5 billion in economic impact through adjacent private investment and development.

    I-35 Overpass near Camden Street

    It’s hard not to smile at Philadelphia artist Donald Lipski’s school of giant fish swimming through the sky beneath the interstate overpass. The cluster of 25 seven-foot-long creatures of hand-painted fiberglass resin are anatomically correct models of long-eared sunfish, native to the river. Impressive by day and stunningly lit from within at night, the glowing fish are a beacon from blocks away, adding color and levity to a once neglected downtown area. A 26th fish is on display in The DoSeum, San Antonio's Museum for Kids, offering an up-close view of the installation’s vibrant detailing.

    COMMISSIONED PUBLIC ART
    The San Antonio River Foundation commissioned and funded public artworks for the benefit of our community and in support of our partners in the $384M San Antonio River Improvements Project. All works along the Mission Reach have been donated to the City of San Antonio's public art collection in perpetuity.

    School Discovery Day

    Enrollment season is here! Do you know someone interested in learning more about charter schools in San Antonio? Join us at San Antonio Charter Moms’ School Discovery Day at Confluence Park on Saturday, November 11 from 11AM – 2PM. Families will have the chance to meet with school representatives, ask questions, fill out applications, and learn about our enrollment process.

    Come for the information and stay for the fun! Guests can enjoy the fantastic amenities of Confluence Park, including stunning architecture, exhibits on landscape ecotypes and native plants, and trail access to the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River Walk. Guests can also sample specialty hot dogs by Doolittle’s Mobile Kitchen, dance to the beats of The AM Project, catch Once in a Wild mobile zoo’s animal program, get creative with face painting, and enter for a chance to win a raffle prize!
