The San Antonio River Foundation, in partnership with the San Antonio River Authority, invite you to the 2ndTwo medals.jpg Annual Mission Reach Flotilla Festival on Saturday, April 8, 2017! Join us from 11am-5pm at the Mission County Park Pavilions for this FREE family-friendly, Fiesta-on-the-Mission-Reach event! A Flotilla water parade, costume contest, watercraft decorating contest, fabulous music (see Entertainment below), delicious local food vendors, craft mercado, and festival activities for kids will make the Mission Reach Flotilla Festival an event to remember. Fiesta medals will be for sale, $10 each. 

This FREE ADMISSION  event is designed to bring awareness to the newly developed  Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River, including over 15-miles of hike and bike trails, pavilions and other outdoor recreation amenities the Mission Reach has to offer. 


Flotilla Water Parade & Costume Contest

This year's Mission Reach Flotilla Festival will include a mile-long water parade where community members may paddle their canoe, kayak or paddleboard on the San Antonio River while dressed in their finest Fiesta regalia. The Flotilla's Grand Marshal will judge each costume and pick the one with the most Fiesta spirit.

To be in the costume contest, you must be a part of the Flotilla water parade. However, a costume is not required; we welcome you to join the Flotilla in your watercraft as you are. Entry to the Flotilla water parade and/or costume contest is free. Click here for CONTEST RULES

Watercraft Decorating Contest- $1,000 Grand Prize!

The Mission Reach Flotilla Festival will hold a watercraft decorating contest where community members can transform their canoe, kayak orIMG_5592 edit.jpg paddleboard into a themed work of art! This contest is based on land, decorated crafts will not be allowed in the water. A panel of judges will select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners with a Grand Prize of $1,000, courtesy of the John and Florence Newman Foundation! In addition, there will be a People's Choice winner, decided by vote from everyone at the festival.

All contestants will be judged, in part, on their ability to go "Eco-Friendly" with their decorating choices. Individuals, groups and organizations may all enter. Entering the contest is FREE. Click here for CONTEST RULES
