San Antonio is building…
a world-class river park that reflects our unique culture. The 15-mile-long linear park along the banks of the San Antonio River will be like nothing else in the world.
The San Antonio River Improvements Projectis an extraordinary public/private partnership which broke ground in 2007 and is scheduled to be completed in 2012. It will create a 15-mile linear park along the banks of the San Antonio River, stretching from the headwaters near Brackenridge Park all the way to historic Mission Espada on the City’s south side. This is not a new idea; it has a long and interesting project history behind it. The San Antonio River is a vibrant treasure that belongs to all of the citizens of San Antonio. This remarkable project will create a lasting legacy for our children, grandchildren, and many generations to come. |
