Economic ImpactsGrowth and DevelopmentThe San Antonio River Improvements Project (SARIP) is an estimated $250 million on-going investment by the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the San Antonio River Foundation in flood control, eco-system restoration, amenities, and recreational facilities along the San Antonio River.
In 2006, the San Antonio River Foundation retained Austin-based TXP Corporation, an international consulting firm, to assess the economic impacts and community development implications of this project. Major findings included:
