Eagleland: Enhancing Connections

Just south of downtown, the Eagleland Reach is a short but vital segment of river running from Guenther Street to Lonestar Boulevard.

Two important neighborhoods – the King William district filled with stately homes built by early German settlers, and the rambling warehouse art community of the Blue Star Arts Complex – will also benefit from the improvements the River Foundation is helping to provide along the way.

A new pocket park at the end of Constance Street, filled with lush natural landscaping and improved hike and bike trails, will include spaces for lingering within the cozy community park.

The park, overlooks and hike and bike paths of the Eagleland Enhancement play a pivotal role in connecting downtown, the River Walk and the Museum Reach with the Mission Reach area.

The Eagleland segment, currently under construction, reflects the ecosystem restoration planned for the remainder of the Mission Reach.

Along the Eagleland and Mission Reach segments, the project will also reintroduce native trees, grasses and plant life along the river's edge.
