Meeting News is an industry publication for Meeting and Event planners. San Antonio River Foundation Executive Director Kim Abernethy, as well as Steven Schauer of the San Antonio River Authority and Steven Clanton of the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau, described the project, its timeline, the lock and dam feature, the expected economic boost to the city, and the Foundation’s environmental and artistic project enhancements. Abernethy says in the article, “There will be opportunities to do wonderful kinds of environmental projects.”

About the San Antonio River Foundation: While the city, county, San Antonio River Authority and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers re-build the basic infrastructure of the San Antonio River, the Foundation is the catalyst creating, facilitating and funding new amenities such as vibrant public art, pocket parks, historical and cultural elements, gardens and environmental outreach programs through generous grants from corporations, foundations and individuals.
