Express-News: River foundation commissions
seven artists for bridge projects

(July 19, 2008) SAN ANTONIO – Dan Goddard of the San Antonio Express-News was on hand to meet and interview several artists at the El Tropicano Hotel on Wednesday, July 16, 2007. The Foundation held a reception for the artists and gave them a chance to meet one another.

Five artists who are submitting ideas for River Project enhancements in the Museum Reach met at El Tropicano hotel in San Antonio to view their sites and exchange ideas. From left to right, Mark Schlesinger, George Schroeder, Stuart Allen, Martin Richman, Carlos Cortés.

Carlos Cortés, Martin Richman, Bill Fontana, Donald Lipski, Stuart Allen, Rolando Briseño, Mark Schlesinger and George Schroeder will submit their plans for the enhancements to underpasses, bridges and railings and a grotto, to the Arts & Architecture board by August 15, 2008.
