Experience the River

Museum Reach

1.3 miles of family-friendly riverfront for strolling, sitting, reflecting and reconnecting to the river, featuring 11 public art installations, the only inland lock-and-dam in Texas, and lush native plants along a wide walking path. Connects the River Walk with the Pearl Brewery multi-use complex.

Downtown Riverwalk

The #1 tourist attraction in Texas (it battles with the Alamo for that place from year to year) – and San Antonio locals love it too! Famous for vibrant restaurants and bars, unique shops and relaxing waterside benches. And don’t miss the unforgettable fun of a guided barge ride or a unique water taxi!

Mission Reach

Recreation and history intersect along 8 miles of the San Antonio River, and flow past four Historic Missions – now part of the National Parks system. The San Antonio River Authority, US Corps of Engineers and the city and county are providing public funding for the much-needed engineering and natural habitat restoration. The San Antonio River Foundation is dedicated to raising private funds for education, recreational and artistic enhancements along the Mission Reach – including hike and bike trails, portals at the Historic Missions, parks and pedestrian bridges.
