    On Thursday, October 20, the San Antonio River Foundation will be hosting “Connect with Confluence Park,” a free community event for residents to view the master plan for Confluence Park. The Park, located along the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River near its confluence with San Pedro Creek, is being developed by the San Antonio River Foundation into an educational complex complete with open park space, shady areas, water play area, amphitheater and eventually foundation offices. 

  • River Spectacular to be Featured at National Library Month Luncheon

    Wendy Atwell, author of the San Antonio River Foundation's Book, The River Spectacular: Light, Sound, Color & Craft on the San Antonio River,  is being featured next week at the New Braunfels Public Library Foundation Luncheon in celebration of National Library Month.  Atwell, along with four other writers, will be speaking at the event on April 28th, which benefits the New Braunfels Public Library Foundation.

    The Cork Bar at Hotel Contessa claimed the top prize at Thursday's 3rd Annual RiverTini Pour-Off.  The event, sponsored by Brasserie Pavil and Grey Goose, benefitted the San Antonio River Foundation and featured competitors from Aldaco's Stone Oak, Auden's Kitchen, Boudro's, Brasserie Pavil, Cork Bar at the Hotel Contessa, Jason Dady Restaurants, Lüke San Antonio, Quarry Hofbrau, Q at the Hyatt Regency & Achiote River Cafe at the Grand Hyatt, Vbar at the Hotel Valencia and the Westin La Cantera Resort. 

  • Competition to Create the City's Best Martini Heats Up

    There’s some stiff competition this year to create the winning martini at the 3rd Annual RiverTini Pour-Off, an event that benefits the San Antonio River Foundation. “These are not Frank Sinatra’s martinis,” says San Antonio River Foundation Executive Director, Estela Avery, of the unique drinks that are created specifically for this event. “We ask that each drink reflect the spirit, culture, and renewed sense of vitality of the San Antonio River.”

    SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio River Foundation Board of Directors has appointed Estela Avery as Executive Director. Avery served on the Board of Directors for more than two years and had been filling in as Interim Executive Director since September. “Estela Avery has great ties to the community and was just the right fit for the position as we focus our efforts on the Mission Reach,” said Nick Hollis, San Antonio River Foundation Board Chairman.

    The River Spectacular: Light, Sound, Color & Craft on the San Antonio River

    To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Museum Reach, the San Antonio River Foundation commissioned a book titled The River Spectacular: Light, Sound, Color & Craft on the San Antonio River to chronicle the design, construction and installation of eight public art pieces along the new 1.3 mile stretch of the San Antonio River Walk. The book was released on May 29, 2010.
