Leadership Gifts

In January 2007, the San Antonio River Foundation launched the Leadership Phase of its capital campaign, with Ed Whitacre, former CEO of AT&T as its chair.

With strong support from San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger, the committee raised $13 million from community-minded corporations, foundations, and individual donors.

The second phase of the campaign began at the end of 2007, led by Tom Stephenson, Publisher of the San Antonio Express-News. The committee’s current goal is to raise an additional $20 million in corporate, foundation, and individual large gifts by the end of 2008.
