Wendi E. Strong

Wendi Strong is Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications of USAA, one of America's leading financial services companies. She is responsible for using communications to build and enhance the association's relationships with a broad array of constituents including employees, members, the media, and the public. She serves as one of 10 members of the USAA Executive Council who leads the company under the direction of CEO Joe Robles.

Prior to joining USAA in 2000, Wendi was with Associates First Capital Corporation, a publicly traded Fortune 500 financial services company, and Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a global manufacturer of well-known consumer products. She also led the public relations and advertising functions for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, an ultra-luxury hotel company. In addition to her corporate communications experience, Wendi has held positions in public relations agencies, including Hill and Knowlton, and Dallas-based Holt and Associates.

Wendi holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in journalism, both from The University of North Texas. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, the Institute for Public Relations, the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas and the San Antonio River Foundation. She chairs the Greater San Antonio Camber of Commerce Image and Communications Advisory Board. She is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society, Public Relations Society of America, Texas Public Relations Association, and chairs the Insurance Information Institute (III) Communications Committee.
