Theodore Popp

Ted Popp is the Secretary of the River Foundation board. After 33 years of service, Ted retired as an Ernst & Young Partner and former partner-in-charge of the Central and South Texas Tax Practice.

Ted was born in Indiana and graduated from St. Edward's University in Austin with a bachelor of science degree and attended St. Mary's Law School. Ted is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of professional organizations where he has held numerous board posts including the American Institute of CPAs, Texas Society of CPAs and San Antonio Chapter of CPAs. He has also served as a St. Edward's University Board of Trustee for over 30 years; formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas Independent College Fund; was Chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors of Father Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town of San Antonio, and Treasurer of the Goodwill Industries (San Antonio).

From 1997 - 2000, Ted assisted in a major effort to develop and enhance the San Antonio River - an effort now being realized.

Ted has been married to Donna for 50+ years and the couple has resided in San Antonio for nearly all of those years. They have four children, Leane Morgan, Lynn Whalen, Lisa Popp-Mitchell (deceased), and Ted, Jr.
