Sally Buchanan

Sally Buchanan was born and raised in San Antonio and is currently Vice President of the Kangaroo Court Restaurants of Texas, Inc. Sally graduated from St. Mary's Hall and earned a bachelor's degree in art history at Mills College in Oakland, CA and a Texas Teacher's Certificate as a high school specialist.
After receiving her bachelor's degree, Buchanan returned to St. Mary's Hall as an art history instructor. She later devoted her talents to a variety of professions, including social service caseworker for the Texas Department of Public Welfare, travel agent and meeting planner for the National Trust for Historic Preservation of Washington, DC.
In 1989, Buchanan became Executive Director of the San Antonio chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Over the years, she has also been active lecturing, presenting and writing articles for newsletters.
Sally has represented Bexar County at Large on the board of the San Antonio River Authority since 1999. Her current term expires in 2011. She is also active in civic and community groups including the San Antonio Conservation Society, San Antonio River Oversight Committee and San Antonio River Corridor Committee.
Sally is married to Bob Buchanan and they have two children, Garland and Larkin.
