Nicolas Hollis
Known formally as Nicolas Stanley Ashworth Hollis, those who work with this affable Antipodean know him simply as Nick. The shortening of the name belies the man’s far-and-wide entrepreneurial success in identifying, starting and managing high-growth businesses and institutions.
Nick’s accomplishments in sourcing capital, business reengineering and strategic development in support of a broad range of global industries brought him to San Antonio in 1993. A co-founder of PowerTel, Australia’s 3rd telecommunications carrier, Nick continues to work within the telecom field. In addition, he oversees activities in angel investing, fundraising, and consulting for international businesses, state and local political issues and non-profit organizations.
Nick served on the board as vice chair for 4 years and is the immediate past chairman. He has also previously served as Chair of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation and was a board member and advisor to the San Antonio Botanical Foundation.
Nick and his wife Liecie have three children ages 19, 15 and 12.
