JoAnn E. Boone

JoAnn Ezquerra Boone is President and CEO of Rio San Antonio Cruises and has daily, first-hand views of the magical pull of San Antonio River. JoAnn was raised in San Antonio and attended Little Flower High School, San Antonio College and The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her fluency in Spanish and English gave her a head start in her early career as a teacher for the Berlitz School of Languages. She also held posts as a Reservations Supervisor with Southwest and Tejas Airlines, and was Regional Sales Manager and Production Supervisor for Spanish language Ventana Publications.

In 1983, JoAnn turned her attention to marketing the San Antonio River Walk as Advertising Manager of the Paseo del Rio Association's publication, Showboat, and as the association's Promotions Manager. It was here where she gained a deep understanding of the crucial role the river plays in San Antonio's tourism industry. During that time she served as Chair of the Search Committee for the San Antonio Children's Museum, which opened its doors on Houston Street in the summer of 1995. In October, 2002 JoAnn took the helm of Rio San Antonio Cruises as CEO and President.

JoAnn has two children, Jack and Kate.
