Ellen Williams

Ellen Williams serves as Vice President of Occupational and Process Safety for Valero Energy Corporation. In her role, she oversees the company's Occupational Safety and Health programs, including Valero's participation in OSHA Voluntary Protection Program, Process Safety programs and the Emergency Perparedness and Response Department.
Ellen Joined Valero in 2002 as the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Director for the Valero Krotz Springs Refinery. In 2003, she became the HSE Director for the newly acquired Valero St. Charles Refinery. While serving in that position, the refinery won the Louisiana Governor's Environmental award for a waste minimization project implemented at the refinery. Additionally, the refinery won the first ever Valero Chairman's Environmental Award in 2003. The refinery won the Valero Chairman's Safety Award in 2005. In 2007, Ellen moved to San Antonio as Director of Process Safety Management Systems and was promoted to Vice President of Occupational and Process Safety in 2011.
Prior to joining Valero, Ellen held several HSE position for BASF Corporation in Louisiana, New Jersey and Texas. Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University.
Ellen serves on the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association's Health and Safety Commitee. Additional community activities include particpation in Mother's Day meal delivery for Mealson Wheels, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Relay for Life, and coordinating a worship service for St. Mark's Episcopal Church at Haven for Hope.
