Banks Smith

Banks Smith is a San Antonio native who is a lifelong student of history, a love he developed from his grandfather, C. Stanley Banks. He majored in History at The University of Texas at Austin and, upon graduating Phi Beta Kappa, he remained at UT to earn his law degree. He has practiced law in San Antonio for more than 30 years, with a two-year sabbatical living and traveling in Asia. He is the Managing Shareholder of Schoenbaum, Curphy & Scanlan, P.C., a practice concentrating primarily in real estate, partnerships and business transactions and planning related to trusts, probate and estates.
Banks also uses his expertise to represent non-profit organizations including the San Antonio Conservation Society, the San Antonio Museum of Art and recently represented the Voelcker Fund in its sale of 310 acres to the City of San Antonio that has become Voelcker Park. He is consistently named in the Best Lawyers in America and in Texas Monthly Super Lawyers.
