Adair Sutherland

Adair Sutherland represents the San Antonio River Authority on the San Antonio River Foundation board. She has served on the SARA board as the Goliad County representative since 2000, and is currently Vice Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the Operating Committee. In Goliad, Adair is a member of the Municipal Development District Board, the Parks Commission, the Library Long Range Planning Committee and Canoe Trial Goliad, and was a founding member of the Museum of the Coastal Bend in neighboring Victoria.
Upon graduation from Goliad High School, Adair studied at Newcomb College in New Orleans and earned a BFA from The University of Texas at Austin. After university, Adair worked in Paris and New York at the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of the City of New York. In 1974 she returned to Texas and as Acting Director of the San Antonio Museum Association and oversaw the restoration of the Lone Star Brewing into the San Antonio Museum of Art. She was a founding member of the Blue Star Art Space and is a member of the SAMA Friends of Contemporary Art Committee.
Adair met and married Ashby McCulloch Sutherland while in New York, where she raised her two children.
