Our HistoryThe San Antonio River Improvements project is a massive civic improvements project that aims to reclaim a river that had been lost for generations to neglect and development, restore its natural beauty and provide access, education, inspiration and recreation along its banks. This collaborative initiative involving city and community leaders, public entities and private citizens is creating the longest urban linear park in the nation, and may be the largest urban wildlife restoration project in the world. A major partner and the only non-profit involved in the River Improvements Project, the San Antonio River Foundation has been working since 2003 to provide amenities and enhancements that will allow residents and tourists alike to enjoy the river’s natural beauty, immerse themselves in its history and foster stewardship for its future. |
